Jurassic fossilised Monkey Puzzle Tree. Whitby Jet has been harvested from the storm ravaged North Yorkshire coast for many centuries, highly prized for its density, which enables it to be carved into elaborate forms.

When pulverised, the pigment is milled into oil to create a stable, highly transparent brown-black.

Drying: 5-7 days in thin applications.

When used with glazing mediums, allows deep veils of transparent brown.
