Vermilion (PR 106) fell out of general use in artist’s colours during the 1980s, although we still offer it within our Bespoke Artist’s Oil Colour range, both in its natural form (Cinnabar, from Monte Amiata) and process form, Vermilion. Dull Bright Red and Bright Dull Red offer the artist a subtle and complex alternative to Cinnabar/Vermilion.

Based on Cadmium Red and a special tin-based pigment, “Potter’s Pink”, which serves to take the edge from the strong, bright cadmium red. Semi-opaque.
