A nod to post-impressionist painting: Degas Red is a subtle blend of Burgundy Yellow Ochre with Cadmium Red. Ochres from the north of Burgundy are more opaque and stronger than those from Provence: this robustness matches the density and strength of the Cadmium Red pigment.  Opaque.
