Honister Green Slate, Deep, hand-dug, own production

Metamorphic slate from the English Lake District. While sorting the raw material, they seperate the brightest green slate material from those infused with haematite. This darker shade is the residual balance from this process.

The material is sieved to 50micron before milling in oil. Semi-opaque, showing transparency in glazes.

Drying time: 3-5 days in thin application.
