Gamboge - genuine natural pigment NY 24 (Natural yellow 24)
Camboge, gomma gutti. Gamboge is a tree resin, from the species Garcinia, found in India and South East Asia. In the crude “pipe” form, the resin, or sap is tapped from the tree, collected into a mould and left to dry.
Pulverised resin forms a pigment which can be milled into oil – although the addition of turpentine as a solvent can cause the paint to act more like a dye – leaching into/merging with other colours before drying.
Transparent, slow drying 5-6 days as thin application.
