Acrylic Varnish Gloss - Wallace Seymour

This is a final varnish for dried acrylic paintings. Ensure the paint surface is completely dried before application. Typically, an acrylic painting, no thicker than 1-2mm will take around 14 days to cure completely.

The varnish is applied with a flat hog varnish brush, ideally 5mm thick and 40-50mm wide. The varnish can be diluted as required with water. For example, dilution by 25% with cold water will allow the varnish to coat the surface evenly, without drag and not too runny as to be difficult to handle when brushing. Alternatively Acrylic Varnish Gloss can be spray applied although it should be diluted to some extent with water first.

The heavy gloss of undiluted varnish can be reduced by dilution with water.  The more water is added the less the gloss effect will be.
