Acrylic Structure Paste 1 (Modelling Paste) - Wallace Seymour

This paste can be mixed with acrylic colour to achieve thicker passages of paint where heavy impasto areas are required (up to 3-5mm thickness). Thicker applications are more prone to cracking onto canvas but may be possible on rigid supports (e.g. board).

The structure paste has a dense consistency and an off-white colour.  This off-white colour will have some effect when mixed into acrylic colours by reducing the tinting strength of the acrylic colour.

An alternative to mixing paste and colour directly is to lay down an application of structure paste first.  When dried, it can then be over-painted with the chosen colour(s).
