Cinnabar, natural vermilion. Monte Amiata, Italy PR 106

Natural mineral form of vermilion, with inclusions of sandstone, quartz. Slightly warmer in tone when compared to vermilion oil colour, with slight grainy finish when applied thinly or pulled out to a glaze.

The pigment is processed in the Wallace Seymour production is from historical raw stones. Known as ‘Fragole” (Strawberries), the small rocks are crushed and pulverised, then sieved to 50micron particle size.

Good opacity. Stable, very slow drying time – 10-14 days for a thin application.

Mercuric sulphide. Toxic.
