Sepia Ink, made from Adriatic Cuttlefish
The ink sac found in the swim-bladder of the Cuttlefish yields a black brown "ink". The ink sac is carefully washed and dried, then ground to a fine powder. The material is then bound in a gel paste of Gum Arabic with preservative.
The ink paste can be diluted with water and expressed with brush or dip pen as required.
